Oakwood Retreat, Selma Indiana
Meet your Goals
Polish that Chapter.
Write that Proposal.
Finish that Article.
You can do this in just 2.5 days at a structured writing retreat.
Enjoy dedicated writing time and space with other academics at the gorgeous Oakwood Retreat in Selma, Indiana. Structured writing retreats not only provide dedicated space and uninterrupted time to write, they also provide a space to turn the solitary task of writing into a community of practice (Murray and Newton 2009).
Oakwood Retreat Center
Oakwood Center is located 15 minutes southeast of Muncie, Indiana, one mile north of Prairie Creek Reservoir, nestled along the banks of the White River.
In addition to writing, there will be free time to explore the 40-acres of diverse habitats and wildlife while hiking through prairie, woodland, and wetland trails. You will also have access to Red-tail Land Conservancy's 117-acre White River Woods connected to Oakwood's property.
We will have social hour each day, and there will be access to an above-ground pool and large bonfire (weather permitting).
Accommodations and Food
Oakwood Retreat has modern, indoor lodging. While some single rooms are available, most are double or triple occupancy (when registering, be sure to specify your needs). Oakwood also has accommodations for people with disabilities.
Three great meals will be served during the full days we are there, with coffee, tea, and nosh available throughout the day. On our first evening together dinner will be served. The food is, whenever possible, locally sources, and all of it is freshly prepared just for our group. Dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free) can be accommodated; questions about other restrictions should be directed to me (email@example.com).
